I was born in Kharkiv, I don’t have any formal training in visual arts and I started to work with oil only recently, last year. I am a philologist and my professional life has always been connected with everything that has to do with words: editing, copywriting, translating etc. After the full scale war started in Ukraine, I’d lost the strength to express myself verbally, or to continue my work as I used to do. So, at some point I found myself drawing something, which was a very calming thing to do. Of course, I’d always been in love with the visual arts, but mostly as a spectator, although I used to make sketches and experiment with different techniques.
